The Haunted Me #2 page 4

Another page into the story. Oddly enough I was having a lot of trouble thinking of what Eric would say in the final panel … a lie that sounds convincing enough to Marie but not to us given the hint of the center panel. I was going to use “by monsters in a maze” but that was vague enough that the reader might think there is a connection.  Part of the game with writing this stuff is to try to figure out what a reader would think by looking at this, and try to make sure there are no unintended misunderstandings. I have messed up this game a lot over the years.
