The next page of HAttiE. There’s a lot of conversation in this chapter — there will be a lot of conversation in this comic to be honest. I’m trying my best to depict a healthy brother-sister relationship. It’s hard because I never had one myself. But basically I’m trying to establish the characters while presenting them as normal people. I had scripted a lot of this conversation a year ago but as I draw this I am making a lot of changes to the dialogue. I found in my original dialogue the sister’s lines were pretty flat and mainly served to focus on what Eric had to say which is not how a natural conversation would go. I ended up giving a lot more dialogue to her and giving her all the more thoughtful things to say, and in the end I hope people are left with the impression that Emily (name hasn’t appeared in the comic yet) is pretty good at reading people and situations, and Eric is not.
