Some things I was thinking of while drawing this:
In panel 1, I wanted to make it seem like Wren was going on a journey, so I chose a view from behind her. It looks like we are following her on some adventure. By framing the scene on both sides with something dark toned, I was hoping to achieve the feeling of her entering some new territory and she was going there alone.
In the final three panels, I wanted to show the scene from the perspectives of the characters. Wren is looking up at William which makes him more threatening. William is looking down at Wren who is in between two people, making her seem small and trapped (William is the name I wrote in the script although I don’t think it will be mentioned in the comic).
Something I think a lot more about when I do this larger sized comic is how I can use angles and panel sizes to create a feeling. With the four panel comic I am very limited to what I can do so I’m glad that doing this comic gives me different challenges to work with.
