I am a senior in high school and a part of suicide prevention and awareness club called Lifesavers. We do peer to peer presentations in the 12th and 9th grade health classes. Today we were doing our presentations and the advisor for the club kept indirectly saying that depression was the same thing as a grieving cycle. And I kept trying to indirectly counteract her comments. For someone with depression, saying that this momentary cycle of grieving is the same as depression was insulting. It’s exactly this. Sad VS. Depression.

I dont know if this will be read, but this comic hits such a chord with me that It’s a relief that someone can depict how I feel to the T, and I’m only on comic 12; it’s also painful to see that someone else has to go through this, and I am actually crying right now like an idiot, but at least i can cry and let it out this time. Back to reading I go. I want to see where this goes.

P.S. When I click on the picture in your archive tweets it does not load the URL as I would expect from other tweets by other people.

I’m not sure exactly what you mean, but the tweets use a URL shortner that comes with WordPress/Jetpack.

You can’t open up because people will get tired of you…or that’s what it feels like, at least. It feels like they’ll be all like “Why are you so sad all the time? You should be over this by now!” Or maybe that’s just me, idk

This is so me… I’m so afraid of telling people.. They will think that I’m a freak. No one understands… No one..

But when you get too exugausted to keep holding up that mask, it can look like the second panel. It’s easier to say you are just having a bad day than to really tell them what’s going on, and at some point the mask gets too heavy
