My company took us all out for Xmas lunch today, and I sat there at a table with 15 of my co-workers and had a miserable time. I said more to the waitress than I did to the people sitting next to me. Ate half my sandwich & left without saying goodbye. I dont just get depressed at social gatherings, I get angry that everyone is able to enjoy themselves but me. I am incapable of feeling joy over anything
I just can’t understand the obligation that you MUST ABOVE ALL THINGS ENJOY BEING IN THE COMPANY OF EVERY SINGLE ONE in the room. even if you just talked for like 5 minutes with some people, you must act as you have been friends for ever, or else you’re just grumpy and stupid. no, you can’t just feel uncomfortable and rather want to be with just 3 people that you really enjoy being with, no we must gather a dozen and go crazy. yey, such fun. #sarcasm

I am very similar except I get angry at myself. It’s like I spend the night building myself into a bubble that I can’t get out of.
